     Dear Sirs:

     Enclosed you will find check for $15.00 for associate membership. Not because of taking the financially most economically considered way, even though I see nothing wrong with that thought, but because it is the most practical solution to my problem relative to Dianetics. I have views concerning financial support of the institution in this section and you are aware that results have bountiful financial rewards.

     I am a licensed physician and surgeon operating a registered privately owned and operated hospital (general hospital) covering the entire field of medical practice including general medicine, surgery, physical medicine – practically every mode of physical medicine we have found to be practical and productive of predictable results – and have been searching all of my aware life for something missing in medicine. We have always been practical in our institution. We accept nothing that won’t compute, regardless to whether it came from the Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins, Oschner Clinic, postgraduate courses in medicine and surgery, or from some little hamlet or village or some obscure individual. This missing element always eluded us....

     Our routine is to practice standard medicine first. If it works fine. If not, you must take another step. Still something was missing. We knew the missing element dwelled in the field we understood as psychiatry at the time but still we couldn’t compute it and didn’t nor couldn’t compute our inability to understand into the unsolved equation....

     ...SINCE OUR EXPERIENCE WITH DIANETICS, MANY COMPUTABLE POSTULATES KEEP BOUNCING UP INTO OUR MINDS CONCERNING THESE FACTS. These postulates are glaringly obvious. You can see them now without having your attention called to them. It seems that the missing elements now are merely tied in with the obvious postulates that DIANETICS has made possible to be uncovered.
